Aboard the Tramway du Mont-Blanc, climb 1,832 m in altitude over 12.4 km (Le Fayet 580 m – Nid d’Aigle 2,412 m) through one of the wildest massifs in the Alps.
For mountaineers, it's the springboard to the Voie Royale on Mont-Blanc. For families and mountain lovers, it's a spectacular, perfectly safe immersion in the high mountains.

The TMB covers approximately 12.5 km and 1,792 m of elevation gain in 1h07, linking Le Fayet station (Saint-Gervais-Les-Bains) to Nid d’Aigle. During the extension works, the terminus is temporarily located at Mont Lachat.

You can buy a Tramway du Mont-Blanc round-trip ticket 
Booking your seat is mandatory; you must choose the day and departure time.

Already hold a valid travel pass (season, annual or stay pass)? You can make a booking by clicking here.

Trains have 130 seats.
Your booking secures a place on the train, not a seated place.

Depending on the day’s passenger numbers, the section of the line and the time of day, a seat is not guaranteed on the outbound or return journey.

When you buy a ticket, only the departure time is known. Your return train is booked at the arrival station.

Tickets purchased online cannot be changed or refunded (except in the event of technical or weather-related closures on our part).

Travel is prohibited for children under 6 months for access to Col de Voza / Bellevue / Nid d’Aigle. (Travel passes for children under 5 are free, on presentation of supporting ID, and available at the ticket office only).

There is no medical contraindication for pregnant women. However, if in doubt, please consult your doctor or obstetrician.

Pets are welcome, but must be kept on a lead at all times.

For people with reduced mobility, wheelchair access is possible as far as Col de Voza, accompanied by a companion and weather permitting (50% discounted fare, available at the ticket office only, on presentation of supporting documents).

Depending on your chosen stops along the line, the average visit time to Nid d’Aigle is 3 to 5 hours (1 journey = 1 hour). Please note that visit time can double depending on passenger numbers and waiting time at stations.

Only the departure time is known. The return train is booked at the arrival station.

Luggage is limited to 1 hiking-style backpack per person plus one set of ski equipment.

If you have more luggage, please contact us before your visit (accueil@tramwaydumontblanc.fr) or go directly to the ticket office on the day of your trip (without prior contact, it is possible that not all of your luggage can be transported).

Pushchairs are transported free of charge.

Children under 5 travel free of charge (on presentation of supporting ID, and only for purchases made at the ticket office).
Children aged 5 to 14 benefit from “youth” fares
Seniors aged 65 and over benefit from “senior” fares

The Family/Group Pack: 2 adults + at least 2 children (5–14 years) gives access to a dedicated offer: (2 adults at full price, 1st child at full price, 2nd child at 75% of the adult price; 3rd, 4th and 5th children free, maximum.

Person with a disability: You and your companion receive a 50% discount on presentation of your card at the ticket office. Ticket not sold online.

Several departure points are possible: from Saint-Gervais station.

Parking spaces are very limited near the Saint-Gervais and Le Fayet stations.

Free parking with no time limit is available at the Alpin cable car (Parking du Châtelet – 25 min – 900 m walk from Saint-Gervais station – shuttle available to the ‘Le Mont-Joly’ stop, 3-minute walk) and at the Casino (20 min – 750 m walk from Le Fayet station). A shuttle connects the Châtelet and Casino car parks to the Tramway du Mont-Blanc stations.

Do you have an MBU/MBM plan?

If you have a Mont-Blanc Unlimited or Mont-Blanc Multipass, access to the Mont-Blanc Tramway is included in your pass. You can therefore ride the Mont-Blanc Tramway without purchasing an additional ticket.

However, it is REQUIRED to reserve your seat on board to take the tour. (Reservations are free.)
